Best Place to Relax in Montego Bay
Busy MoBay, with its Hip-Strip, cruise ships, and proximity to the airport is a popular place to stay. And we know the perfect way to stay close to all the action, but still chill out, relax, and enjoy some peace and quiet.
It’s called Coyaba Beach Resort.
This place lives up to the expression “nice things come in small packages.” The feeling is intimate and friendly, and the grounds are just the right size. No matter where you are on the property, you’re just steps away from your room, the beach, and the bar or restaurant. And really, isn’t that all you need?
One of the things we like most about Coyaba is the small, private beach. You’ll definitely get a spot where you want it, and a lounger, too. And the big sandbar just offshore protects this little strip of white-sand paradise, keeping the water nice and calm—and also a little shallow. So if you like to paddle around but don’t think you’re a strong swimmer, this is up your aquatic alley.
Planning a wedding? The staff here would love to help make it happen. And unlike some resorts, where weddings are churned out one right after the other, the staff at Coyaba pride themselves on custom designing each one. That’s why they only do one a day.
“You’re not just a room number here,” says executive assistant manager, Gaby Sander. “We get to know our guests, and are ready to make things personal.” One way they do that is by giving each guest a welcome basket filled with homemade banana bread made fresh from an old family recipe.
Personally, we think that’s a great attitude, and that’s what makes this a great place to stay.
Did you know… you can capture some of this same feeling in Negril at their sister property, Country Country Beach Cottages? That’s where “cottage cool meets Jamaican warmth.”
